While not an exhaustive list, here are four of the most-expensive homes sold in Essex in February 2021 -- three being tied for the No. 2 spot.

Sold for $400,000 Feb. 23, this four-bedroom colonial was on the market since mid-December.

There is a full bathroom, a three-quarter bathroom, and a half bathroom. The house has 3,040 square feet of finished space and comes with 10.24 acres of land.

In addition to living space on four floors, the property has a large bonus room over the two-car garage. Built in 1985, it includes natural woodwork, solar tubes, an electric cooktop, an electric range, a central vacuum, and a wood stove. There’s also a deck, a partial fence, a gazebo, and a covered porch.


T-2. 23 Aspen Drive

Sold for $400,000 Feb. 12, this four-bedroom colonial was on the market since early December.

The house has two full bathrooms, a half bathroom, 0.34 acres of land, and 1,959 square feet of finished space. It comes with a two-car attached garage and a deck.

Built in 1988, the home includes finished basement space, a five-burner endless top range, a granite island, and a granite-surrounded gas fireplace. The kitchen also has a breakfast bar, and the sunny dining room overlooks the private yard. The neighborhood features extensive walking and biking trails, tennis courts, and a heated pool.

Sold for $400,000 Feb.12, this four-bedroom home was built in 1988.

It has two full bathrooms, a half bathroom, 2,192 square feet of finished space, and 0.34 acres of land. The corner lot comes with a two-car garage, maple flooring throughout the majority of the first floor, and a three-season room that opens up to a deck with a private backyard.

The house has easy access to the neighborhood pool, tennis courts, and bike path.


1. 5 Lilac Lane

Sold for $425,000 Feb. 26, this three-bedroom contemporary was on the market for just over two months.

The home has one full bathroom, one three-quarter bathroom, and a half bathroom. There are 2,128 square feet of finished space with 500 of that being in the basement, and the house sits on 0.74 acres of land.

Built in 2012, the Lilac Lane property has a one-car garage, shed, deck, and covered porch. It also includes a gas fireplace, hearth, natural woodwork, kitchen island, and electric range.
