Benjamin Serrantonio is a captain of the Essex High School varsity football team.
Q: Tell us in a few sentences about a memorable moment from your time on the team.
A: The most memorable moment for me during high school football was my sophomore year, 2019. We had lost to Rutland in the regular season and were going down to play them again for the semifinals. We knew it would be a tough game, but we all knew we were not losing to them again. We ended up winning that game and played our best game of the year.
Q: For how long have you been playing the sport? When did you start and why did you choose it?
A: I have been playing football for nine years now. I started playing football because it looked really fun and all my friends were playing.
Q: What do you hope to achieve personally or as a team this season?
A: This season, our goals are very simple, and it's really only one goal: to be state champions.
