Sara Jablonski has been selected as the new interim principal at Founders Memorial School, filling the vacated role through the end of the 2021-22 school year.

Jablonski has held the role of FMS librarian for the last 14 years, which will help in the transition to her new position as she is already familiar with the academic, social-emotional and developmental needs of the students in the building.

“I am very pleased and excited to appoint Sara Jablonski as interim principal at Founders,” said Essex Westford School District Superintendent Beth Cobb. “We will all benefit from having consistency, as she knows the students and staff very well.”

Jablonski is currently enrolled in the Advanced Graduate Studies program at St. Michael’s College, where her focus is on school leadership. Twice in the last three years, she has co-taught a young adult and children's literature graduate-level course at the University of Vermont.

Recipient of the UVM Outstanding Teacher Award in 2012 for the then Essex Town School District, Jablonski has also served as a co-chair for the Vermont Library Conference. Early on in her professional career, she gained experience teaching at the high school level.

Jablonski earned her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Geneseo and also has a Masters of Library Science from Simmons College.

She officially started as the interim principal at Founders on Oct. 6 and will spend a few weeks transitioning into the role. The EWSD will begin an official search for the next FMS principal in December.
