ESSEX JUNCTION – Ben Ross, age 49, passed away on April 12 at his home in Essex Junction. He was born on November 21, 1971 at Madison General Hospital in Madison, WI, the son of Richard and Deborah Ross.

Ben studied zoology at the University of Wisconsin before moving to Vermont in 1997 to open Disc Go Round/ Downtown Discs with his father. After 14 years of providing high quality music, games and movies at affordable prices the store closed, and Ben went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Champlain College and to work as a financial adviser for Edward Jones.

Ben had a life-long love for learning, cooking, cats, clothes, fantasy games and competitions like fantasy baseball. He was kind and gentle, and the best son anyone could have. He left a legacy of love with all those he touched over the years.

Ben is survived by his parents, Richard and Deborah Ross, his stepmother Sandy Anderson and several generations of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at the Unitarian Church later this summer in Madison, WI when inside gatherings can be resumed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or locally to Josh’s House https://joshpallottafund.org/joshs-house/ .
