A casual, nightly stroll through Maple Street Park became much-more festive this past weekend as the Essex Parks & Recreation/Essex Junction Recreation & Parks departments started Winter Lights in the Park.

Running from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night until Jan. 2, the display makes way for people to enjoy decorative trees and a tunnel of lights which includes thousands of brightly-lit bulbs.

Located at 75 Maple Street in Essex Junction, the park is child friendly and provides holiday-themed music being played through numerous speakers. There is no charge to enter, and there is also a scavenger hunt for those with a sharp eye.

Between the restrooms, in the main corridor of the park’s east entrance and just beyond the pool’s entering and exiting points, visitors can find the list of items to be found on the scavenger hunt. Additionally, they can borrow 3D glasses which will provide a special sparkle to the lighting display.
