The year of no cards

Me & the Christmas card that Messenger Print & Design sent to our office - how clever!

Me & the Christmas card that Messenger Print & Design sent to our office – how clever!

I regret to inform everyone that it is December 19 and I have only received one Christmas card. Last year this time, my mailbox was over flowing with cards from family and friends. What are people waiting for? Has this become a tradition of the past? Are people late? I’m secretly hoping there will be a flood of them over the weekend.

To be honest, I have not sent my cards out yet. It’s been a long process:

Day 1: I went to the store and picked out the cards for this year.

Day 2: I sat, addressing all of them.

Day 3: I was supposed to pick up stamps and photos. But my photos were delayed and I spaced on the stamps.

Day 4: I sat and wrote out each card.

Which brings us to today, Day 5: A pile of addressed and written out cards await me; far from ready to go. I’m hoping to successfully pick up my photos and get the cards sealed and ready for stamps!

Are there friends and family that you haven’t caught up with for awhile? It’s not too late to reconnect before 2014. Go find, buy or make some paper, pick up your pen. Whether you settle on sending a note or a novel, I guarantee the receiver will appreciate it. Who doesn’t love getting mail? I know that I do.

Happy Holidays from The Essex Reporter and The Colchester Sun!
