Acts of inclusion

Daniel Goodrow, 20, of Essex Junction joins the WVMT morning radio show of Charlie, Ernie and Lisa in a September appearance to celebrate Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day and the Special Olympics. Kennedy Shriver founded the Special Olympics for people with intellectual disabilities; the commemoration reminds people to commit acts of inclusion, acceptance and unity for people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Vermont took part by offering “Bring a Champion to Work Day”, an opportunity for community members to host an athlete in their workplace. Four Vermont Special Olympians spent time with Vermont businesses and schools, talking about their Special Olympics experiences and learning about a variety of careers. Hosts included WVMT, the Colchester Police Department, The Rehab Gym, Middlebury Fitness, and the Winooski School District. CONTRIBUTED
