Did you share breakfast with VT State Senators on Monday?
"Chittenden County’s 6 VT State Senators, with the exception of Senator Diane Snelling, all met with their constituents from throughout the county for a breakfast Q&A on Monday, April 14, from 7:30 – 9am at Trader Duke’s Restaurant in the Double Tree Inn at 1117 Williston Rd, South Burlington near I-89 Exit 14.
Although our State Senators are often invited to come and speak to certain groups, like the Chamber of Commerce or city governments about issues important to that group, this was the first time in recent memory when the meeting was open to any citizen to come and ask whatever questions they wanted on any issue now before the legislature.
Many took advantage of this. The space was full to overflowing and, when asked, everyone said it was useful and they’d like to see it happen again. Senator Ginny Lyons has agreed to coordinate this and to try to set up another such gathering before the end of this legislative session.
Hats off to Ginny and our Senators for making this happen. Perhaps this can, over time, grow into a regular such monthly meeting during the legislative session."
