The Winooski Historical Society took over Vermont’s annual French Heritage Day that ran for nine years in Vergennes, and brought it to the lawn of the Champlain Mill on Saturday.

The event’s first time in the Winooski location appeared to be a hit as fiddlers, singers, dancers, historians, canoemakers and trappers —among other Franco-influenced tradespeople — participated in the daylong celebration of the Vermont-French connection.
