newyearsNot ready to say goodbye to 2013? Having some trouble thinking of a great New Year’s resolution? The staff of The Essex Reporter has compiled some of their favorite memories from 2013 — and some goals for the year ahead.

Elsie Lynn:

Favorite moment: Moving to new digs! Our new Severance Corners office is nice and cozy and clean.

2014 goal: To train for and run the entire Burlington City Marathon.

Michael McCaffrey:

Favorite Memory of 2013:  Getting the Front Office Manager position here at the paper.

2014 Goal:  Save for a house or condo

Kelly March:

Favorite moment: 2013 has been good to me, so it’s hard to pick a favorite memory. But I would say dipping my toes in the Pacific Ocean  takes the cake. I’ve been dreaming of making it to the West Coast for over two decades and the time I spent there in May was just perfect.

2014 goal: Try new things — anything and everything that offers me a chance to get outside my comfort zone.

Kirsten Cheney:

Favorite moment: moving family into our dream Vermont farm house.

2014 goal: Liberate my schedule – and drink more water.

Kelly Malone:

Favorite moment: Traveling to Ireland for 2 weeks!

2014 goal: Laugh more.

Miles Gasek:

Favorite moment: Culminating the art of grilling the perfect venison steak.

2014 goal: To focus mindfully on being present in the moment that I am living.
