The Colchester Sun welcomes your stories, news tips, photos, community calendar listings and letters to the editor.

1. •    Editorial content must be at our office by the end of the day Thursday for publication in the following week’s issue.Exceptions will be made for urgent, late-breaking news up to Tuesday at 9 a.m.
   

2. •    Community calendar listings must be submitted at least two weeks before the  event. Include event name, location, time, cost, contact information, photos and art. Please do not add extra formatting such as capitalization, bold or italics. Note “events” in subject line of email.
   

3. •    Stories and photos about events and people in the community are welcome. School and sports news and photos are encouraged. Please keep stories to about 350-400 words and send by email to our office by Thursday for the next issue.
   

4. •    Hard-copy prints and digital photos must be in focus with the subjects identified. Electronic images sent by email must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi and be sent as individual documents (jpg, tif). Do not embed in Word documents or PDFs. Please avoid time stamps. Photos can be returned if you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
   

5. •    We also welcome letters to the editor. Please keep letters to 300 words and include name, hometown and phone number.Longer “Perspective” columns should be no longer than 700 words. Note “letters” in subject line of email.
   

6. •    Obituaries and announcements of births, weddings, civil unions, graduations, academic honors, anniversaries, engagements and other milestones are published free of charge.
